If you follow all our advice given during the Stew course and relentlessly walk the docks and network and visit crew placement agencies, then it can take 2 – 6 weeks to get a job. However, there is such a thing as “daywork”, which will earn you money before you get a permanent job (more about all of this during the Steward/ess course).

Considering that you will be earning between $/€ 2 000 and $/€ 2 500 monthly salary as a starting salary, the financial investment you made for courses and going overseas, could be paid off within two months!

This was posted on a South African Yachting group:

"I am a South African yachtie and I am currently sitting in Dubai Airport after being denied boarding onto a flight to Nice (about 2 hours ago) due to France only accepting EU or UK nationals in their country currently. So ANY NON-EU nationals thinking of going to France, move your flight until after the ban. Don't waste your time and money".

Might be best right now to stay home and patiently wait all this out. Best of luck to all of you.
