That’s why we’re excited to launch our 2025/2026 Apprenticeship Programme, a unique opportunity for former SYSA students to return, upskill, and step into instructor-level roles. Why apply for the SYSA Apprenticeship?
Each season, SYSA identifies former students who have stood out, individuals who’ve demonstrated not just competence, but true commitment, professionalism, and a passion for the industry. As part of this intensive, hands-on apprenticeship, selected candidates will:
- Earn two sought-after instructor qualifications under the guidance of our experienced team
- Gain real-world teaching experience while supporting new students in training
- Receive mentorship and career development support tailored to your future in yachting or instruction
- Earn a competitive income during the programme
- Strengthen your CV and open doors to opportunities in onboard or shore-based roles in the industry

Who can apply?
This programme is exclusively open to former SYSA students who:
- Have successfully completed training at SYSA
- Are above the age of 21.
- Are motivated, reliable, and eager to grow into leadership roles
- Are available to start training from the start of November 2025.
